Disney Soccer Showcase Champs!

Congratulations to the Texans FC 91/92 Red (U15) team for winning the Disney Soccer Showcase in Orlando, Florida!  The U15s won all 5 games, out-scoring their opponents 13 to 7 over the 4 day event that concluded today.  The Texans FC 89/90 Red (U17) team went 2-1 in the same tournament, but did not advance due to tie-breakers in the three-way bracket tie.

Texans FC Players named to Boys All-American Team

Alex Dixon and Brek Shea, members of the Texans FC 89/90 Red team, earned berths in the 2006 NSCAA/adidas Boys Youth All-American Team, the only players from South Texas so named. The honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, as part of the 2007 NSCAA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.  Read the full story here.

Texans FC Player Brek Shea scores for U17 MNT

At the Nike Friendlies this weekend, Brek Shea, member of the Texans FC 89/90 Red team scored the opening goal against Brazil on Dec. 9.  See pictures here and a write up of the game here.   Brek wears #15 on the U17 Men's National Team.

Texans FC Alumni honored by their colleges

Several Texans FC alumni were recently honored by their colleges and soccer conferences after outstanding Freshmen years.  Check out the news.

Germantown Champs!

Three Texans FC teams braved frigid temps this weekend and traveled to Memphis, TN where all THREE teams made the Championship game.  The U16 Red and U17 Red teams were crowned Champions; the U18 Red could not play in the final because of travel problems. Combined stats for the three teams was: 9-0-2 with 31 Goals For and just 3 Goals Against!  <more...>

Congrats MLS Cup Champions - Our Houston Dynamo!

	The Texans FC organization extends their congratulations to the Houston Dynamo for winning the MLS Cup today in Frisco, Texas.  Many Texans FC were in the stands as the Dynamo defeated the New England Revolution in penalty kicks, 4-3 after ending two overtime periods tied 1-1.
Malcolm Perschke, coach of the Texans FC 88/89 Red, was on hand to see his former Texans player, Stuart Holden (#22, left), score the second Dynamo Penalty kick.
As part of the MLS Cup Festivities, the Texans FC U14 participated in the MLS Cup U14 Showcase and went 2-0-1 this weekend in Dallas.  The team beat Triangle FC (NC) and Nomads Academy (So Cal) 1-0 and tied Beachside (CT) 1-1.

Fall Competition - Div. 2 through Premier League

Fall Competition is underway for the 20 Texans FC teams:

• three U11 teams in the Qualifing games for Div. 1,
• two Div. II teams,
• four Super 2 teams,
• seven teams competing in Division 1 play, and
• four teams qualifying as one of two top EDDOA teams to play in the Premier League against North Texas and Oklahoma this fall.

Labor Day Tournament Success

After over 100 games played by Texans FC teams in Austin, we had many great successes:

Congrats to all our players and coaches!  The tournament was a great warm-up to the fall season, which begins for all teams this weekend.

Announcing the Texans FC Junior Academy

The Texans FC Junior Academy (for U7 thru U16 boys) has been designed to create a love for the game of soccer in the early stages of development while also providing quality training for those who have in interest in select soccer.  The Academy will run from Sept. 11 - Nov 16.

Texans FC Hires More Full-Time Staff Members

Southern Regionals Update

Congratulations to the three Texans FC teams who represented South Texas in the recent Southern Regionals in Little Rock Arkansas. The U19s, with a record of 2-1 and the U16s with a 1-1-1 record were eliminated on tie breakers. The U16s only loss was to the eventual Region Champion, Georgia. The U18s lost in the quarter-final game to North Texas (Dallas Texans), the Regional Champion. Complete results can be found on the official web site of the Southern Regionals.
